Zoho Wiki Update - Oct 28, 2009

Features / Issues Fixed

  1. Zoho Gadget Widgets.

    • You can add Zoho gadget widgets into your wiki pages. Using which you can list your mails, tasks and contacts in your wiki.
  2. Sign In/Sign Out  given as Widget

    • Now, Sign in link can be placed anywhere in your wiki pages based on your convenience.
  3. SitepalAvatar Widget.
  4. Add Tag menu item is now listed under page menu.
  5. Tag suggestions are provided while adding tags.

    • Helps you and your users to add contextual tags to your wiki pages easily.
  6. Modify URL broken link issues handled, modifying url will be redirected to new url automatically.
  7. IE browser related issue  when saving page content with background-image style removed is fixed.
  8. Previously while contacting dotted users an error was thrown in Contact author screen, which is fixed now.
  9. Issue related to Listing of pages in navigate pages when HomePage does not exists is fixed now.
  10. My Account changed to Contact Me in My Account Settings.
  11. Issue related to message shown while changing page permission is fixed.

Issues fixed:

  1. IE browser related issue when clicking on Show version menu is fixed.
  2. Issue related to font listing in editor font selection box is fixed.
  3. Breadcrumbs / Sub pages can be included in common pages.
  4. Previously if landing wiki is deleted, error will be thrown. Now the site not found page message will be displayed.
  5. Search related issue fixed. Previously, Last word in the line not indexed properly.
  6. Previously sign in box was shown in pop up for unauthorized access pages, now sign in box embedded in page itself.
  7. Sign out issue fixed which was posted in forums at the following url http://forums.zoho.com/?ftid=2266000000413467.
  8. Dark Forest theme link colors changed.
  9. Fixed a bug where we can not give same page name as page url.
  10. Fixed a bug where JavaScript error was thrown in IE on viewing wiki in Zoho Business.

Features:

  1. Export and Import Wiki

    • Export your wiki as backup and import the same wiki later. If you are techie you can use this as offline version.
    • Export your wiki and import the same into new wiki. Its like copying whole wiki.
  2. Trial Version of Basic Plan

    • You can try our basic plan for one month and after one month paid features will be disabled. 
    • You can use Custom Domain, Multiple admins, Custom Favicon features for one month.
  3. Tag Cloud

    • Tag your pages and search through tags.
  4. Tag Cloud as Widget

    • You can embed tag cloud as widget in any page. For e.g dashboard page.
  5. Breadcrumbs(Trail Pane) as Widget

    • You can embed breadcrumbs widget in the bottom of the page. So your users can navigate easily.
  6. W3Counter / Blip.tv Widgets
  7. Two New Themes

    • New themes are 960px width and center aligned layout.

Usability Improvements:

  1. Menus

    • You can easily navigate all the options through menus.
  2. File Cabinet Sorting

    • You can sort the file cabinet by clicking the headings of the file cabinet.
  3. Showing Page Information for Public Pages.

    • You can show/hide the page information of your public pages.
  4. Pages menu item added
  5. Edit Sidebar

    • You can go to customize your sidebar by clicking the Edit Sidebar link at bottom of the sidebar
  6. Invite, Send a Link Message

    • You can customize the mail body message before sending the link or inviting others to your wiki.

    • Watch page(s): You will get notifications through email, when the page is changed.

    • Custom message can be added in group invitation email.

  • Free Plan Changed
    • Number of wikis per free account increased from 1 to 2
    • File attachment storage space increased from 10 MB to 25 MB
  • Set Permissions for Page Creation & Deletion
    • Provide permission to who can create pages in your wiki
    • Provide permission to who can delete pages in your wiki
  • Domain and Registered Users Permission Level
    • Provide permission for Zoho Registered users to create/edit/view/delete page & post comments to your wiki.
    • Provide permission to your domain users (your company/organization's email domain) to create/edit/view/delete pages & post comments to your wiki. No separate invitation mail need to be sent, just signing up with Zoho is enough for accessing your wiki.
  • Block Users
    • Block users who are mis-using your wiki by Zoho User ID or user email address
  • New Image options
    • See your latest uploaded images and thumbnail view of images
  • Delete file attachment versions
    • Delete unwanted versions in a file attachment. Comes in handy when optimizing attachment space [Caution: you cannot revert back your content once you delete a version]
